Description
44 High Street is a late 17th-century building that was originally two houses but is now a single dwelling. It features regular coursed lias stonework and a thatched roof. The structure is single storey with an attic and has a four-window range of casements with glazing bars, two of which are fire windows, all set under wooden lintels. There are two eyebrow dormers in the attic. The entrance includes plank doors located to the right of center and at the far left, both under wooden lintels. Brick stacks are positioned at the ridge and the end of the building. Inside, there are two open fireplaces with bressumers; one fireplace includes a shot cupboard with drawers. The ceiling beams are chamfered, and there is a winder stair located to the left of the fireplace in the room on the right.
