Description

Home Farmhouse is a late 17th-century farmhouse constructed from squared coursed limestone and topped with a Collyweston slate roof. It features a four-unit plan and stands two storeys high with an attic. The front has a four-window range that includes two three-light stone mullion windows with leaded lights and drip moulds, along with two casements that have glazing bars under wooden lintels; the first-floor windows are 20th-century replacements. A central plank door is located beneath a wooden lintel. To the right, there is a large two-stage buttress. The gable ends are adorned with ashlar parapets, and there are four ashlar stacks with moulded cornices at the ridge and ends. The right-hand bay may have been built at a different time. The left gable features a three-light stone mullion window similar to those on the main front. The rear elevation includes a gabled stair turret on the right with two blocked two-light stone mullion windows that also have drip moulds, and a single-light window with a sundial above in the apex of the gable. There are four three-light stone mullion windows on the rear that match the main front, along with a central plank door and two roof dormers. The interior has not been inspected but is noted to have some panelled window reveals, panelled doors, open fireplaces with bressumers, spine beams, a winder stair, and a room on the far left that has a 17th-century fireplace with a four-centred head.
