Description

This is an early 18th-century house located on Chapel Road. It is built of regular coursed limestone, now painted, and has a thatched roof. The building follows an L-shaped plan and is a single storey with an attic. The main front has a three-window arrangement with 20th-century casement windows set beneath wooden lintels on the ground floor, and eyebrow dormers in the attic, some of which have been rendered. A central 20th-century door is also topped by a wooden lintel. Brick and stone stacks are visible at the ridge and end of the building. The rear of the house is similar, with a projecting wing on the right. The interior retains remains of two open fireplaces with original bressumers (wooden crossbeams) and the original roof structure. The building is believed to have been used as a public house at some point.
