Description

This is a house, now divided into two dwellings, located on Corby Road. The building dates to 1654, as indicated by a datestone, and was originally designed with a three-unit plan. It is constructed of limestone ashlar with a concrete tile roof. The house is two storeys high with an attic. The front elevation features a symmetrical three-window arrangement, with each window containing four lights and stone mullions. Linked drip moulds form continuous string courses across the facade. Two 20th-century doors are set between the window ranges, each with a moulded stone surround and a four-centred head. Two dormers, originally of a Lincolnshire style, have been partially reconstructed in the 20th century, with their eaves aligned with the underside of the windows. Ashlar gable parapets with kneelers, and ashlar stacks at each end complete the exterior. The datestone, with a cornice above, is located below the right-hand dormer. A 19th-century lean-to extension is at the rear of the building. The interior has not been inspected.
