Description

This is a late 17th-century and mid-18th century house on High Street. It was originally part of a larger block, encompassing numbers 19 to 27. The facade is constructed from limestone ashlar with a Collyweston slate roof. The original plan comprised three units. The house is two storeys high and has a three-window front. A central, original 17th-century canted bay window with stone mullions extends to both floors; the sill of the ground floor window has been lowered. Flanking this are sash windows with glazing bars, each set within a gauged stone head with a keyblock. A 20th-century door is situated to the left of centre, framed by a moulded wooden surround. The house features a chamfered plinth and eaves parapet with plain coping. To the left is an ashlar gable parapet, and brick and ashlar stacks are located at each end of the building.
