Description

The Old School House at the Weldon Centre is a late 18th-century school house that now serves as part of a rehabilitation centre. It is constructed from limestone ashlar and features an artificial slate roof. Originally designed with a two-unit plan, the building stands two storeys high and has a two-window range of plain casements set beneath stone lintels with keyblocks. A 19th-century stone porch, which has an arched opening and double plank doors, adds to its character. The gable ends have parapets and ashlar stacks with moulded cornices. The interior was remodeled in the 20th century but retains some chamfered ceiling beams.
