Description
No. 7 High Street is a house dating from 1587, with later datestones from 1691 and 1844. It is constructed of squared coursed limestone ashlar and features a concrete tile roof. The building originally had a two-unit plan and stands two storeys tall. It has a two-window range of sash windows with glazing bars; the first-floor windows have stone lintels with keyblocks, while the ground-floor windows are tripartite and sit under wooden lintels. To the right, there is a 20th-century door beneath a stone lintel. The house has ashlar gable parapets and ashlar stacks at both ends. Attached to the right is a 19th-century two-window range, which includes one casement window with glazing bars under a wooden lintel and a 20th-century canted wooden bay window. Although the interior was not inspected, it is noted to have an open fireplace with a bressumer.
