Description
The Nutshell is an early 18th-century house located on Church Street in Wadenhoe. It is built from regularly coursed limestone and features a thatched roof. The building has an L-shaped plan and is a single storey with an attic. The road-facing elevation has a one-window range with a 19th-century casement window set beneath a wooden lintel. There is a similar casement window in the attic, located under an eyebrow dormer. To the right, there is a plank door also beneath a wooden lintel. A brick chimney stack is positioned at the end of the building. The left elevation of the rear wing has a two-window range of 19th-century casement windows, each under wooden lintels. A 20th-century door is centered on this elevation, and there is a 20th-century single-storey extension attached to the rear. The interior has not been inspected.
