17/35 The Cottage (house attached to ' E of The Shires)

GV II

House. Datestone 1622/TG, C18 and mid C19. Squared coursed limestone and brick with concrete tile roof. Originally probably one-unit plan. 2 storeys. Gable end to road of one-window range of C20 casements with glazing bars, under wood lintels. C20 door to right under wood lintel with rectangular fanlight. Blocked attic window in apex of gable is also under wood lintel. Ashlar gable parapet and finial and large ashlar stack to rear. C18 range to rear was raised C19. Interior not inspected. Originally may have formed cross wing to The Shires (q,v.).
