Description
Peace Haven is a house dating from the early 18th century and early 19th century. It is constructed with regularly coursed limestone and brick, topped with thatch and pantile roofs. Originally designed with a two-unit plan, it has been altered to an L-shape. The house is a single storey with an attic. The main front features a two-window range of 19th-century casements set beneath wooden lintels. To the left, there is a similar casement beneath an eyebrow dormer. The central entrance consists of a 20th-century door, while a 19th-century plank door is located to the far left, both also under wooden lintels. The right gable has an ashlar parapet, and there are brick and stone stacks at both ends. The rear wing, added in the early 19th century, is two storeys high, partly brick, and has a pantile roof. Although the interior has not been inspected, it is reported to contain remnants of an open fireplace that has not been blocked.
