Description
Great White End Farmhouse is a 17th-century house that was refronted in brick in the later 18th century. It is likely timber-framed underneath, with side elevations that are tile-hung. The farmhouse has a parallel rear range that is full height. It features three bays and two storeys with attics, topped with old tile roofs. The end stacks are weathered, with the right-hand one likely dating from the 17th century. The eaves are decorated with dentils.
The central door is framed by a doorcase that includes panelled pilasters and reveals, topped with a cornice hood supported by modillion brackets. The door itself is a six-panel design with a leaded fanlight above. Inside, the doorcase and staircase feature two twisted balusters per tread, both of which are early 18th century and are reputed to have been brought from the earlier Latimer House. The windows have cambered arches and leaded casements, with four lights in the outer bays and two lights above the door. There is also a single-storey east range attached to the farmhouse.
