Description
This is a farmhouse dating from the 17th century, with alterations made in the mid-18th century. The rear wall of the front range is timber-framed, while the rest of the building was rebuilt using coursed rubble stone with a first-floor band course. It has an old tile roof and a central chimney made of thin brick. The house is two storeys high with an attic, and has five windows across the front. Most of the windows are 4-pane sashes, although they have largely been replaced in the 20th century. On the ground floor of the right-hand bays, there is an irregular arrangement, with a 4-pane sash window flanked by fixed windows with bars. The central front door has six panels, with a top light and is set within a wooden frame topped by a hood with a cornice, supported by shaped brackets. The leading of the hood is dated 177?. The gables have old 3-light leaded attic casements. A brick lean-to extension is attached to the rear, featuring barred iron casements, including one within a gabled dormer. A range of single-storey outbuildings, constructed from brick and weatherboard, are located at a right angle to the rear of the right-hand bays and are now incorporated into the main house. Inside, there is a 17th-18th century winder staircase aligned with the front entrance and chimney stack, stop-chamfered spine beams, old board doors, and a moulded surround to the window in the left gable.
