Description
The Old Bakery is a 17th-century house that has been altered and extended. It features a timber frame with whitewashed brick infill, and the near gable has been rebuilt in whitewashed brick. The roof is thatched, and there is a rebuilt central brick chimney. The building is 1½ storeys tall and consists of 2 bays. The front has a 3-light wooden casement window on the left side of the ground floor, a single barred wooden casement on the right, and a paired leaded casement window on the left side of the first floor, all under thatch. There is a central board door. The gable facing the road has 3-light barred wooden casements and an additional single light window on the first floor. At the rear, there is a 20th-century lean-to. To the left, there is a 19th-century 2-storey extension made of whitewashed brick with a slate roof, featuring paired wooden casements and a board door on each floor. Additionally, there is a single-storey 20th-century projection attached to the left corner. A Phoenix fire insurance plaque is located on the front gable.
