Description
Daffodil Cottage is a house dating from the 17th century that has been altered over time. It features a timber frame with whitewashed brick infill, while the left gable is made of whitewashed rubble stone. The cottage has a thatched roof and flanking brick chimneys, one of which is from the 20th century. The building is 1½ storeys high and consists of 2 bays. On the ground floor, there are 20th-century leaded casement windows with tiled hoods. The first floor has two 19th-century three-light wooden casements beneath the thatch. The entrance is located in a small 20th-century porch extension on the right side. Significant extensions were added to the rear of the cottage between 1973 and 1974. Inside, the cottage features heavy framing with diagonal braces, chamfered spine beams, a rubble stone fireplace with a stop-chamfered cambered lintel, and diagonal wind braces.
