Description
Grendon Cottage is a house dating from the 17th century and early 18th century. It has a timber frame with whitewashed brick and plaster infill, and a rubble stone plinth. The roof is thatched with a half hip to the right. There is a central chimney featuring one square shaft and one rectangular shaft made of thin brick.
The taller bay to the left is 1½ storeys high and has 3-light casement windows. The ground floor window has 20th-century leading and a board hood, while the upper window features glazing bars and a thatch eyebrow. To the right, there is a lobby entry with a board door. The lower bay to the right is one storey with an attic and has a similar ground floor casement window and slightly less pronounced framing. There are narrow extensions flanking the building, both with hipped thatch roofs.
