Description
Turville Lodge is a house built in the late 18th century, with some Gothic details added around 1800. It was altered and enlarged in 1909. The original structure is a 2-bay cottage made of flint and brick, with brick extensions, all now covered in a colourwash. The building has tiled roofs and brick chimneys, standing two storeys high with a layout of three bays by three bays.
The east front features a bay added in 1909 on the right, along with a parapet and canted projections that include leaded casements in the outer bays. The central bay has a leaded casement with four pointed arched lights on the first floor, and on the ground floor, there are paired leaded casements flanking an altered central door. A flat porch canopy from 1909 is positioned between the canted bays.
The south side of the house has three gables, with the left gable being from the 1909 alterations. The original right bay includes French doors with Gothic glazing bars and a three-light first-floor casement with arched top lights and Gothic leading. Both of these windows were renewed around 1980, with the casement having been moved from the east front during the 1909 work. The central bay is primarily brick and features an external chimney, paired leaded casements on the left, and a single wooden light on the right above a Gothic door. This door has arched lower panels, leaded glazing, and geometric ornamentation in a shallow tympanum.
