Description
Arunwood is an early 18th century house that was refronted in the mid 19th century in a Gothic style, with later extensions and additions to the sides and rear. The building is two storeys high and features dormers. It has a double front with four windows and an original narrow window bay at the west end. The roof is modern tile, with coped gables, kneelers, and projecting, bracketed eaves. The structure is made of red brick with a rendered front, and it has mid 19th century gault brick gable stacks. There is a plain band at the first floor level. The windows are mid 19th century casements with mullions and glazing bars, some of which are in old openings. The flat-topped casement dormers are also part of the design. On the ground floor, there is a mid 19th century French window with three lights and a crenellated parapet in the western bay, alongside a modern French bow window in the eastern bay. The central entrance features a pedimented porch, arched doorways with hoodmoulds, and half-glazed doors. The interior has been altered in the mid 19th century and later.
