Description

The Glade is a building constructed in 1906 by Harrison Townsend. It features a linear plan with a central hall that is flanked by a drawing room and a dining room. The building has two storeys and displays irregular fenestration, including gabled bays and dormers. The tiled roofs extend down over a three-bay verandah on the main south front. The walls are roughcast, with tile-hung first floors and dormer gables. There are brick stacks with moulded caps, and the windows are casement style with mullions and leaded lights. The main entrance is located on the east side, with a doorway to the garden on the south side that features wide arched entrances turned in thin tiles. Inside, the building has exposed ceiling beams and brick chimneypieces.
