Description

The Coppice is a house built in 1905-1906 by architects B Parker and R Unwin. It is a notable example of their style, featuring roughcast walls and simple timber detailing applied to a larger residence. The house has an open plan design consisting of two linked rectangles and is two storeys high. The south-east front has three bays, with projecting window bays on either side of a recessed porch and a first-floor balcony, which has been later altered by the addition of a large balcony at the first-floor level. The roof is tiled, with hips and partly weather-boarded gables, and there are roughcast chimney stacks. The walls are roughcast, and there are ranges of casement windows with leaded lights, along with a recessed entrance.
