Barn Range Circa 20 Metres To East Of Northend Farmhouse

This barn range, located approximately 20 meters east of Northend Farmhouse, dates from the late 18th century to early 19th century. It features a 4-bay barn at the eastern end and 4 slightly later bays to the west. The structure has been refurbished in the 20th century and is built with a timber frame, covered in 20th-century weatherboard cladding, and has a flint and brick plinth with tiled roofs.

The north side of the barn has half-hipped projections at bays 2 and 6, with garage doors on the left and cart doors on the right. There are also cart doors on the south side. A 20th-century door is located at the western end. Inside, the barn has curved principal trusses, with the eastern barn featuring curved braces to the ties, while the remaining bays have diagonal bracing and a central partition.

Attached to the western end is a lower range made of flint and brick, which was formerly used as stables but has been converted and is not considered of special interest. This barn range is included for its group value with the nearby farmhouse.
