Description
This is a barn range located approximately 15 meters northeast of Number 272, known as Arnold's Farmhouse. It dates from the late 17th century to early 18th century, with extensions added in the late 18th century. The structure features weatherboarded timber framing, although some parts have been replaced with brick, and it has brick extensions. The roof is covered with 20th-century tiles. The barn has a stone plinth and consists of three bays with square-panel framing. It includes stable doors and two loft doors above, as well as a double doorway at the rear where the framing has been replaced with brick on the right side.
Inside, there is a brick threshing floor, jowled posts, and a queen-strut double-trenched-purlin roof with clasped principals and a ridge piece. There are single-bay extensions at either end, each with stable doors and windows. The right extension features a timber-framed gable, while the left is entirely brick with dentilled eaves. This building is included for its group value.
