Description
Church Farm's barn range, located approximately 20 meters southeast of the farmhouse, dates from the 17th to 18th century and has undergone later alterations. The structure is timber framed with brick infill and weatherboarding; the right range features weatherboarding only on the gable, with some sections rebuilt in brick. It has an old tile roof and consists of two barns: the left range has five bays, while the right range has three bays. The front facing the farmyard has the second bay rebuilt in brick, with a plank door inserted in the third bay and a stable door in the fifth bay. There are blocked barn doorways in the third and sixth bays, and 20th-century fixed light windows have been added at the upper level. The front is partly obscured by later additions, and the right return side is underbuilt in brick with a stable door inserted in an altered doorway. The gable features a glazed apex. At the rear, the second bay is rebuilt in brick, with blocked barn doorways and the sixth bay having narrow double doors and a pitch-hole with a door. The interior includes inserted floors, jowled posts, and a queen strut roof with trenched purlins and braces. This barn range is part of a group that includes Church Farmhouse, the Church of the Holy Trinity, and a barn and shelter shed.
