Description
This is a house dating back to the 17th century, with alterations in the 18th and 19th centuries, and a 20th-century extension. The garden side has been rebuilt using brick with a flint base, while the entrance side retains some timber framing with new herringbone brick infill between extensions. The roof is covered with old tiles and there's a brick chimney at the east end.
The house has one storey and an attic, originally with four bays, the easternmost bay being an addition. The garden front features 20th-century leaded casement windows, two- and three-light on the ground floor, and two-light in gabled dormers. A three-light ground floor window is set within a slight 20th-century projection in the third bay. A 20th-century door is in a shallow brick porch between the left bays, and a semi-circular projection, previously an oven, sits between the right bays. An open store bay on the left is enclosed by flint walls. The entrance front has 20th-century gabled brick and half-timbered projections on the outer bays, the left incorporating garage doors. There is a flat-roofed brick porch in the angle between the right bays.
Inside, the house retains timber framing in the cross walls, and some heavy longitudinal joists in the west bay. An original stack has been removed.
