Description

This is a milestone located approximately 250 meters east of Harding Bridge in Garsdale, dating from the mid to late 19th century. It is made of cast iron and features a triangular shaft with a flat-faced semicircular head. The milestone is painted white, with raised lettering in black. The head displays "SEDBERGH & HAWES / ROAD," while the left side indicates "SEDBERGH 9 MILES" and the right side shows "HAWES / 7 MILES." This milestone is one of a series of six in the parish.
