Description

Low Scale is a farmhouse and cart shed with an attached cottage, likely built in the early 18th century, with the cottage added in the 19th century. The building is constructed of whitewashed rubble with quoins and has a stone slate roof. It has a single-depth plan with a layout of 1:2:1 units, oriented roughly north-south and facing east. The structure is two storeys high and features three windows on the upper floor and one on the lower floor.

The main range includes a gabled porch at the center with a square-headed doorway and a small square window on the left side. To the left of the porch, there is a square 16-pane sash window, followed by a rectangular 12-pane sash window. On the right side of the porch, there is a similar 12-pane sash window, and above, there are three similar sashes. The cottage to the right has a plain doorway at the junction and one 16-pane sash window on each floor to the right. There is a ridge chimney at the junction on the left and a gable chimney on the right. The full-height one-bay cart shed features a large garage doorway. The rear and interior have not been inspected, but the main range is likely to contain features of historical interest.
