Description

The Garsdale Boundary Marker, located at the county boundary of North Yorkshire and Cumbria, is a boundary marker dating from the late 19th century. Made of cast iron, it stands approximately 500 millimeters high and has a triangular shape. On the left side, there is a hand pointing left with the inscription "WEST RIDING," while the right side features a hand pointing right and the words "NORTH RIDING, ASKRIGG H D." The top of the marker is broken. This marker was erected following the Highways Act of 1888 and is included for its group value.
