Description

This is a milestone located immediately east of a boundary marker in Garsdale, dating from the late 19th century. It is made of cast iron and stands approximately 500 millimeters high, with a triangular shape. On the left side, there is a hand pointing left with the inscription "SEDBERGH 10 MILES." On the right side, there is a hand pointing right with the inscription "ASKRIGG 10 MILES." The top of the milestone features the letters "ASKRIGG H D." This milestone was erected following the Highways Act of 1888.
