Description
Clough Farmhouse is a farmhouse, now a dwelling, likely built in the mid to late 18th century. It is constructed from watershot coursed sandstone rubble with quoins, and the front is painted white. The building has a graduated slate roof and a double-depth plan, facing south. It stands two storeys high and features two windows that are almost symmetrical.
To the right, there is an unusual wide gabled porch with a pair of square-headed doorways, which protect a doorway to the right and a square six-pane sashed window to the left. On both floors, there are similar sashes to the left and right. The farmhouse has gable chimneys. At the rear, there is a rectangular stair-window in the centre, a doorway, and a square window to the right, with another window above, all of which have altered glazing. The interior has not been inspected.
Clough Farmhouse forms a group with the barn located approximately 4 meters to the north. It is also a prominent feature in the view from Garsdale Station.
