This milestone, located approximately 20 meters west of the Bellow Hill turn on the south side of Hawes Road in Garsdale, dates from the mid to late 19th century. It is made of cast iron and features a triangular shaft with a flat-faced semicircular head. The milestone is painted white, although the paint is flaking at the foot. It has raised lettering painted black, which reads "SEDBERGH & HAWES / ROAD" on the head, "SEDBERGH / 4 MILES" on the left side, and "HAWES / 12 MILES" on the right side.
