Description
This milestone, located 180 yards south of the Fat Lamb Public House, is likely from around 1822, when the road was realigned for the Sedbergh Turnpike Trust. It is a single stone approximately 2.5 feet high, with a square base and a rounded upper section. The north face features incised sans-serif lettering that reads "SEDBERGH 9 MILES," while the south face indicates "KY STEPHEN 5 MILES."
