Description
This milestone, located 850 yards northeast of Studfold along the A683 road in Ravenstonedale, dates from around 1822, likely when the road was realigned for the Sedbergh Turnpike Trust. The stone stands approximately 2½ feet high and has a square base. The upper section is rounded at the front. It features incised sans-serif lettering, with the north face stating "SEDBERGH 8 MILES" and the south face stating "KY STEPHEN 6 MILES."
