Description
This milestone, located opposite Tarn House, likely dates from around 1822 when the road was realigned for the Sedbergh Turnpike Trust. It is a single stone approximately 2½ feet high, with a square base and a rounded upper section. The east face features incised sans-serif lettering stating "SEDBERGH 10 MILES," while the west face indicates "KY STEPHEN 4 MILES."
