Description
This milestone, located 150 yards northeast of the Methodist Chapel, was likely erected around 1822 when the road was realigned for the Sedbergh Turnpike Trust. The stone stands approximately 2½ feet high and has a square base, with the upper section rounded at the front. It features incised sans-serif lettering, indicating "SEDBERGH 7 MILES" on the north face and "KY STEPHEN 7 MILES" on the south face.
