Description

The Barn at the Courtyard is a Grade II listed building dating from the mid to late 18th century. It is constructed of grey gritstone rubble and features a graduated stone slate roof. The barn consists of three bays with outshuts at the front, which create a deeply recessed cart entrance. The building has quoins and a board byre door on the left, set within a chamfered quoined surround that includes a slightly cambered chamfered lintel. There are full-height double board doors in the cart porch, along with a board door to the left within the porch, also in a chamfered quoined surround. The interior has not been seen in detail, but it includes queen-strut trusses in the roof.
