Description
Cracoe House is a house built in the mid to late 18th century. It is constructed from coursed squared grey gritstone with ashlar details and has a graduated stone slate roof. The building is two stories high and has a five-bay main range, with a recessed bay on the left side. The corners of the house feature quoins.
The central entrance consists of a half-glazed door set within an eared architrave topped by a segmental pediment. The windows throughout the house are restored sashes with glazing bars, also framed in eared architraves. Notably, the centre window on the first floor is set in a projecting ashlar panel. There is a projecting band at the first floor and a moulded cornice at the eaves, with corniced stacks at the ends.
On the left side, there is a 20th-century glazed door located in a keyed arched recess, along with a cross window above it on the first floor, which has a plain surround. The interior was not inspected during the resurvey.
