Description

Shaws Farmhouse is a late 18th-century farmhouse constructed from coursed rubble limestone, featuring gritstone and Staffordshire sandstone dressings. The roof is covered with plain tiles and has stone coped gables with kneelers. There are three brick ridge stacks and one gable end stack. The building is two and a half storeys high.

On the south elevation, from left to right, there is a 2-light square section flush mullion window with a dripmould, followed by a similar window above and a smaller similar window above that, which does not have a dripmould. The second bay has the same pattern of windows. There is a doorway with quoins and a lintel, featuring a six-panelled raised and fielded door. To the right, there is a break in the stonework, then a 2-light square section flush mullion window with a dripmould, a similar window above, and a smaller single light window above that, which does not have a dripmould.

Another doorway with quoins and a lintel leads to a plank door. To the right, there is a 19th-century 3-light chamfered mullion window with a dripmould, and a similar 2-light window above it. There is a blocked doorway with quoins, a lintel, and a dripmould. Finally, there is another doorway to the right with quoins and a lintel leading to a plank door, a 19th-century single light window to the right, and a circular window above.
