Description
Overfield Farmhouse is a farmhouse built in the late 18th century, with alterations around the 1830s and 1880. It is constructed of coursed rubble limestone with gritstone dressings and features a plain tile roof with stone coped gables and kneelers. The building has stone gable end stacks and ridge stacks, all adorned with two tiers of deeply projecting string bands.
The south elevation is asymmetrical and has two storeys. The ground floor includes an off-centre doorway with quoins and a lintel, featuring a 19th-century panelled door with the top two panels glazed and a rectangular overlight. To the right of the door is a 2-light chamfered mullion window, with a similar window to the left. Further left, there is a 4-light window with a dripmould. The first floor has three gabled dormers, each with tall 2-light chamfered mullion windows, all fitted with casement windows.
