Description
Highway Close is a house built in the early 19th century. It is constructed from coursed limestone with gritstone dressings, featuring stone slate roofs and stone coped gables with moulded kneelers. The house has brick gable end stacks and is designed with a double pile plan over two storeys.
The west elevation consists of two bays and includes a single storey wing to the north. A central doorway is framed by quoins and a lintel with a four-centred arch, topped with a flat, bracketed stone hood. The door is made of planks and is flanked on each side by three-light recessed chamfered mullion windows with dripmoulds above. On the first floor, there are two 2-light recessed chamfered mullion windows.
