Description
Flatts Stile Farmhouse is a house built in the late 18th century. It is constructed from coursed squared limestone with sandstone dressings, topped with a plain tile roof and stone coped gables featuring plain kneelers. The farmhouse has brick gable end stacks and stands three storeys tall with flush quoins. It has an L-plan layout with a lower rear wing.
The east elevation is double-fronted, featuring a central doorway with stone quoins and a lintel. The door is a 19th-century half-glazed design with a rectangular overlight. On either side of the doorway are two-light square section flush mullion windows. Above the doorway, there is a single-light window with a flush stone surround, with two-light square section flush mullion windows positioned slightly lower on each side. The top floor includes a central single-light window with a flush stone surround, flanked by two-light square section flush mullion windows. Additionally, there are massive stone steps on the north side of the farmhouse.
