Description
Rock Cottage is an early 19th-century house constructed from coursed squared limestone with flush gritstone dressings. It features plain coped gables, off-centre ridge stacks, and a Welsh slate roof, with a staggered double-pile plan. The west elevation presents a double gabled front, with an advanced north gable that includes a two-storey canted bay topped with an embattled parapet. Full-height embattled turrets are located at the corners, while the south gable has a single turret. The windows are generally 2-light chamfered mullioned with hood moulds, stops, and Gothic glazing, although there is a single pointed arched opening on the ground floor of the north gable that houses a sash frame with Gothic glazing. A contemporary single-storey porch is situated at the angle of the ranges, featuring an embattled parapet and a four-panelled door. The south elevation includes 2 and 3-light flush mullioned windows.
