Description
Dale Farmhouse and its attached outbuildings date from the 18th century. The structure is built of rubble limestone with gritstone dressings, featuring plain gables, end ridge stacks, and a roof covered with plain tiles, Welsh slates, and stone slates. The farmhouse has a south-facing elevation and is three storeys high, with a single bay that includes stacked former 2-light mullioned windows. The windows on the ground and first floors have flush surrounds and 20th-century windows, while the second floor has an opening with a moulded surround that originally held a 17th-century chamfered mullioned window, now fitted with glazing bar casements. There is a massive door surround at the west end of the farmhouse. The attached outbuildings form an 'L'-shaped range at the west end and are single storey, featuring some 2-light mullioned windows with flush surrounds. At the east end, there is a two-storey outbuilding with four door openings, each having quoined surrounds and heavy lintels, though most have been altered to include windows.
