Description

The water supply fountain, dated 1876, is located on the north side of The Square in the parish of Middleton and Smerrill. It features a shallow blind arch with incised voussoirs and a projecting keyblock. Above the arch, there is a ball finial that is supported by hexagonal columns set into a quoined recess in a low wall. The archstones and the area below the arch bear the inscription 'The Gift of TWB Esq 1876'.
