Description

The Sir George Sinclair Memorial Fountain, located in Sir John's Square in Thurso, was built in 1874. This square Gothic stone fountain features a moulded plinth with a drinking bowl that projects from the northwest face. Each face of the fountain has a recessed cusped arch supported by nook shafts, with a relief medallion on the northwest side and inscriptions on the other sides. The fountain is adorned with crocketted gablets and has a short pyramidal spire that showcases fish scale detailing and a crocketted finial.
