Description

2 Barrock Street in Thurso consists of a pair of two-storey dwellings built between 1830 and 1840, constructed from rubble. The main facades face southeast, with entrances from West Church Street. Both buildings feature end and ridge stacks and have altered composite slate roofs.

No. 2 is a three-bay house with a central door, which has rendered margins and a symmetrical elevation towards Barrock Street. The original central door has been blocked and replaced with a window, and there is a blind window on the first floor, along with another blocked window in the northeast gable. The glazing is modern.

No. 4 has four bays and was originally two separate dwellings with paired central doors, which have now been blocked. A new central door has been added in their place, and a single door at the rear (facing Barrock Street) has also been blocked. This building features 12-pane glazing. Additionally, there is a coped rubble yard wall along West Church Street.
