Description

Flaxdale House is a house dating back to the 17th century, with alterations made in the 18th and 19th centuries. It is constructed of coursed rubble limestone with gritstone dressings, quoins, end ridge stacks, and a concrete tile roof. The house has an ā€˜L’ plan, with a lower bay added to the east end. The two-storey elevation is irregular, originally featuring recessed chamfered mullioned windows, now with 20th-century joinery in the original surrounds. One ground floor opening retains a single chamfer mullion. A stone-framed doorway has a 20th-century door. A lower range at the rear has stone-framed openings, and stone slates. It is listed for group value only.
