Description
Kings Croft is a house dating from the early 19th century, located in the civil parish of Middleton and Smerrill on Rake Lane. The building is constructed from coursed squared limestone with gritstone dressings, featuring plain gables, end ridge stacks, and stone slate roofing. It has an 'L' plan and stands two storeys high with three bays. The windows are 2-light chamfered mullioned types, and there is a single light opening above the central doorway and the ground floor windows. All windows have hood moulds with stops and cast iron frames with Gothic glazing. The central doorway is framed with a stone surround and has a hood mould with stops, set within a segmental arch that includes a projecting keyblock and padstones. The door itself is a plank door with a rectangular light.
