Description
The Old Rectory is a house dating from the late 18th century and mid-19th century. It is constructed from coursed rubble limestone with sandstone dressings and has Welsh slate roofs. The building features four brick gable end stacks and two brick ridge stacks, following a double pile plan. It is two storeys high and has flush quoins.
The east elevation consists of five bays. The central doorway has a stone lintel and jambs, topped with a flat bracketed hood, and features a six-panelled door. Above the door is a large Venetian window with a flush stone surround and a projecting keystone, which has Gothic glazing bars in the centre light. To the right of the doorway, there are two glazing bar sash windows with flush stone surrounds on the ground floor, and one similar window above, positioned between the two lower windows. To the left, there are two windows with flush stone surrounds on each floor; the outer ones are glazing bar sashes, while the inner ones are casements. There is also a blocked single light opening beneath the outer ground floor window. The south gable end has a blocked two-light 18th-century window.
The west elevation features three large tripartite windows on each floor, all with flush stone surrounds. The leftmost window on the ground floor is set in a bay.
