Description

House at 1 Town End, dating from the early 19th century, is constructed of coursed squared sandstone with sandstone dressings and has an asbestos slate roof. It features brick gable end stacks and stone coped gables with moulded kneelers. The building has a coved eaves band and is two storeys high with three bays. The central doorcase is high and chamfered, with a 20th-century door and a plain overlight. On either side of the door are 20th-century small pane windows set in a plain flush surround. Above, there are two similar windows with a central semi-circular headed window that has a raised keystone. This building is included for its group value only.
