Description

Mona View Farmhouse and its attached outbuildings date back to 1756, with some alterations and additions made in the 19th century. The structure is built from coursed squared limestone and rubble limestone, featuring gritstone dressings and raised quoins. The house has a steeply pitched concrete tile roof from the 20th century, with stone gable end stacks and stone coped gables that include moulded kneelers, as well as a coved eaves band. The roof of the outbuilding is covered with stone slates and has a stone ridge stack.

The farmhouse is two storeys high and has three bays, while the outbuildings have two bays. The house features a central flush doorcase with a bracketed stone hood and a panelled door. To the east, there is a 19th-century canted bay window with plain sashes, a moulded cornice, and a parapet. To the west, there is a 20th-century window set in a raised 18th-century surround, which was formerly mullioned. Above this, there are two 2-light raised square section mullion windows with a central single light window. All the 18th-century windows have plain sashes or two-pane fixed lights.

On the rear elevation, there is a flush central doorcase with a lintel inscribed 'EJB 1756'. The lower outbuildings attached to the west feature a flush quoined doorcase and an adjoining 2-light flush mullion window to the east, with a 20th-century window inserted to the west. Above, there are two 19th-century plain sashes in flush surrounds, set widely apart.
