Description

The East Lodge and attached rear garden wall facing the drive to Holme Hall is a house likely built in the early 18th century and extensively remodeled in the 19th century. It is constructed of limestone rubble with ashlar sandstone dressings and has a graduated slate roof.

The building is two storeys high and features a two-window range, with the garden wall attached to the rear left. The house has large quoins and square-faced mullioned windows with leaded lights. To the left of center, there is a 20th-century boarded door with an ashlar surround that has a moulded cornice supported by shaped corbels. On the left side, there are two-light windows on each floor, while the right side has four-light windows, with the upper four-light window breaking the eaves and featuring a cornice. There is also a single-light window on the ground floor at the far right. The gable has shaped kneelers and chamfered copings with an apex finial on the right. An ashlar ridge stack with a band and cornice is located above the door. On the left return, there are three-light windows on each floor.

The interior has not been inspected. The attached garden wall includes a moulded ashlar gateway beneath a hoodmould.
